My Life in Arts and Crafts Design Team Blog Hop

Welcome to the first ever My Life in Arts n’ Crafts design team blog hop.

I’m pleased to announce that I am on the design team for My Life in Arts n’ Crafts and this is one talented team who have lots of creative things to show you. During this introduction hop we have a special guest designer: Melissa from Blissfully Chaotic. How much fun is that!

There are some amazing products in the My Life in Arts and Crafts Store. The store carries some of your favorite items such as colored twine but there are new things to make your craft ideas pop like colored jute which was the focus of yesterday's design team so if you didn't get a chance to hop yesterday please take the time to do so today.

Today we are focusing on fabulous colored twine. Twine is such a versatile accent to a card or layout because it comes in so many beautiful colors and the My Life in Arts and Crafts Store carries any color you can think of and some you probably haven't.

I made this fun birthday card using three of the many colors of twine. I used colors: orchard (light purple), pea pod green, pink sorbet.

Check out the other great craft ideas in this hop and then head on over to My Life in Arts and Crafts to see all the marvelous colors of jute and twine.
Make sure to leave a comment on each blog because our hostess and owner of My Life in Arts and Crafts,  Jessi, is giving away some products from her store.

Thank you for stopping by and now please hop on over to Lissa Marie's blog.

My Life in Arts and Crafts Design Team Hop

Welcome to the first ever My Life in Arts n’ Crafts design team blog hop.

I’m pleased to announce that I am on the design team for My Life in Arts n’ Crafts and this is one talented team who have lots of creative things to show you. During this introduction hop we have two special guest designers: Tanner from Tanner Bell Designs and Melissa from Blissfully Chaotic. How much fun is that!

There are some amazing products in the My Life in Arts and Crafts Store. The store carries some of your favorite items such as colored twine but there are new things to make your craft ideas pop and I'm sure once you try these products they also will become your new favorite things.

This is a two day hop so make sure you come back tomorrow. Today we are focusing on fabulous colored Jute twine. Jute comes in all the colors of the rainbow and works on projects that range from fancy to fanciful.
It comes in 9 fabulous colors: Pink, Purple, Navy, Ivory, Natural, Green, Olive, Black, and Red.

I am using the green on my project.

The bottom card shows the truer colors of the card but the top one shows the green jute better. It was so easy to make. I used double sided ribbon tape and ran it across the embossed part of the card. I then ran the jute back and forth cutting each end. It was easy and is so beautiful looking on this card. It gives the card a vintage feel to me.

Check out the other great craft ideas in this hop and then head on over to My Life in Arts and Crafts to see all the marvelous colors of jute and other products available.

Make sure to leave a comment on each blog because our hostess and owner of My Life in Arts and Crafts,  Jessi, is giving away some products from her store.

Anything Stitched

Sew - A needle pulling thread; unless of course you're a crafter. That's when sewing becomes more than a needle pulling thread. It becomes whatever your mind can conceive and to show this, I have a great bunch of ladies with projects that show their INDIVIDUAL take on what "Anything Stitched" means.

I hope you will hop along with us today to see what these carfters have stitched up to show off. Your hostess, me, Jearise in Lorby's World is the beginning so please start here. I have a wonderful little gift for one lucky winner and all you have to do is hop through and leave a note on my blog and become a follower if you're not one already.

I am giving away DCWV The Summers Days Stitched Stack. Every pages has something stitched on it. Cool!

Now for my project...
I hand stitched around the heart using grey twine from The Twinery.

Heart digi I designed
Grey twine from The Twinery
Stickle's Cotton Candy and used between the twine
Anna Griffin's Carmen Collection boarder stickers behind the heart
Glossy Accents for the cross stitched work LOVE

Thank you SEW much for hopping by today and please continue on to Lucy's Blog..

Lollipop Blog Hop

Lollipop Lollipop Oh Lolli, Lolli, Lolli Lollipop! Even if you don't remember or know this song you will have to admit that there is nothing that brings a smile to a child's face like a lollipop. Do you have a favorite kind or do you like the really sweet multi-colored ones?

This hop is for you and your love of lollipops. Our creative crafters have been at it again creating all sorts of yummy creations for this hop. Our hostess, Me - Jearise in Lorby's World,  will have a sweet treat for you just for becoming a new follower or letting me know you already are one and leaving a comment.

One lucky winner will win my monkey pop digital file. I ask all others to not copy or use him without permission or to re-sell him.

 Now for my projects....

The lollipop girl digital stamp comes from Crudoodle and I used my promarkers to color her. I haven't stamped a sentiment yet because my stamps are still packed away.
The ribbon came from My Life In Arts n' Crafts. I added glitter to the dress and the back of the card but you can't see it. Darn!

The lollipop on this card came from Broken Box Stock as a freebie. The twine came from The Twinery. I used my Cuddlebug to emboss the background. The embossing design is from the Mini Monsters set and even though it's suppose to be for Halloween, I think it works perfect for this.
I got carried away on the glitter. Oh who's kidding, you can never get carried away with glitter.
My last project was a bookmark. I made the lollipop using twine from The Twinery. I'll show how to make it at a later date when I have my new craft room set up and am able to do video.

Thank you for hopping by today continue on to sample some SWEET projects. Your nest stop is Jessi.

Rainbow Cupcakes

A friend told me about these a few years back and I have so much making them now that I make them for school functions all the time. I made this batch for 48 children in kindergarten and first grade this past school year.

Just buy a box or two of regular white cake mix and make it according to directions but you can only use the egg white and not the whole egg so the batter stays white. Then divide up the batter equally. Add colored food paste to each bowl of batter and add enough to make the desired color you want. You must use food paste which you can by at Joann's Fabric and Crafts and Michaels usually. Food coloring doesn't give the desired richness of color and too much can make the batter runny so it doesn't layer right.

Once you've colored the batter just start spooning it into the cupcake holders. The batter will be heavy enough that it won't sink and mix with the batter underneath it.

Once you're done filling your cupcake holders, pop them in the oven for the recommended time and degrees on the box and just wait...

Here is the finished result.
But wait there is  surprise when you take your first bite.
Fun and Yummy!

Thanks for stopping by today and HUGS FROM JEARISE IN LORBY'S WORLD.

And if you're interested in joining some blog hops, check out Lorby's World of Hops and our first hop: Cows Verses Horses will be this Sunday so be sure to check back and see what are crafters have made using either cows or horses or both.

Packing Day

I'm not looking forward to today for a lot of reasons: packers here to pack, one day closer to moving away from close friends, and time I will not be able to craft. Well not exactly...I am keeping my Cricut Expressions behind with a bunch of crafting stuff so I hope to get some work in while I sit here.

I'm sending hubby and two kids to our new home in Austin, Texas while I stay behind with the youngest child to have the house fixed up to rent it out. It should be quiet for about a week except for my youngest son telling me he bored all the time since his toys and the TV have gone on ahead.

So here's to keeping my fingers crossed that the house will be still enough that I can craft my days away while having people come in and fix it up.

Have a great Monday and hugs from Jearise in Lorby's World.

Krazy Crafting Crew Summer Blog Hop - Day 2

Welcome back for Day 2 of our Krazy Crafting Crew Summer Blog Hop. We hope you found lots of ideas and inspiration yesterday and will continue to find even more today.

If you just came from Robin's Blog you are on the right track. If you found this hop and want to go to the beginning to make sure you don't miss any inspiration, please go to So Many Crafts, So Little Time

We also have two sponsors this month:

 and Anita and Bugs.

Here is my Day 2 project...

Along with summer comes summer vacations and family road trips so I decided to do a layout for a family trip. I love the paper which was on clearance and is On Cloud 9. I'm not for sure about who the stickers are from but I bought them at Tuesday Morning's.

I wanted an out door kind of feel because when you're traveling you're on the road again. I used jute instead of twine and neutral colored buttons on my layout. The jute came from My Life in Arts and Crafts' Etsy Store.

There's a little hidden pocket with a tag for writing of your special road trip and I used more jute for the end of the tag.

Thanks for stopping by and now continue on to Lisa's Blog.

Krazy Crafting Crews Summer Blog Hop - Day 1

This is a two day event with a group of amazingly talented crafters who have wonderful summer fun projects to share with you, so be sure you hop all the way through to maximize your inspiration! Also do not forget to return tomorrow and hop through again for more NEW awesomeness and inspiration!

If you just came from Robin's Blog you are on the right track. If you found this hop and want to go to the beginning to make sure you don't miss any inspiration, please go to So Many Crafts, So Little Time.

We also have two sponsors this month:

 and Anita and Bugs.

Here is my Day 1 project...

I used a stamp for the birdhouses and I used my pro-markers for coloring them. I am in love with pro-markers and have been having a blast coloring with them.  There is glitter in the middle of each little flower and brown glitter on the bodies of the butterflies but you can't see it in either picture. I always have to add my glittery bling.

Birdhouses and butterflies are a beautiful part of summer to me so it was an easy choice to do this card.

Thanks for stopping by and now continue on to Lisa's Blog.

Happy 4th

Any big plans for today? The 4th is all about BBQ'a, friends, family, and firewords (unless you're in a drought stricken state).

I think the 4th is about the Red, White, and Blue and putting those colors in your decorations. I put those colors to work in this cute simple garland I made.

I had some of those pre-cute bodies that you buy in the kid's section at Michael's or Joann's Fabric and Crafts so I thought I would have some fun with them. I used my Cricut and Paper Doll Dress up cartridge to make the dresses and boy's clothes. The sparklers came from the cartridge Stand and Salute. I used Peachy Keen Stamps for the cute faces. They look like they are ready for the parade to go marching by.

Have a happy and safe 4th of July from Jearise in Lorby's World

June Sketch Blog Hop - Day 2

Welcome to the Sketch Blog Hop. Everyone has had so much fun doing these it's turned into a regular event!
The purpose of this hop is to show how all of these talented bloggers can take the same sketch and come up with totally different cards. If you've never used a card sketch before, give it a try! You should have arrived from Jamie's Blog. and if you just happened along the hop, you can go back to the start at www.craftycardgallery.blogspot.com
This was the sketch we were asked to modal our cards after.

I made this card for a very special young man who is celebrating his 1st birthday today. I squirrel and the "Happy Birthday little guy" sentiment are from the Cicut Birthday Bash cartridge. I used my cuddlebug and one of the embossing files from Mini Monsters to emboss the green paper with candy designs. I have fallen in love with basic quilling so I added some embellishments I quilled. I used brown ink for the squirrel's tail and a touch of glitter for the top of the hat.

Thank you so much for hopping today and please continue on to Tonia's Blog

Hugs from Jearise in Lorby's World.

2nd Annuual "For the Love of Pink" Blog Hop

Please click for the June Sketch Blog Hop

Welcome to the 2nd annual "For the Love of Pink" blog hop being hosted by Gill. This hop theme was such a success last year that she though she would bring it back again this year. I have to say pink is a fun color to work with.

I added some glitter Mod Podge to the cupcake after I stamped and colored it. I have a thing for glitter. I just bought a new punch that is a circle design and you can tell I had fun using that and I even found pink ribbon with circles to bring everything together.

Thanks for hopping by and your next stop is Zenita's blog: Scrappin with Z.
