Christmas Gift Printable Journal Set Day 2

Welcome back today where I continue to show some of the Christmas cards I made using the beautiful paper from Tsunami Rose's collection Christmas Gift Printable Journal. This is a vintage Christmas paper that will take you back in time with it's beauty and grace and is versatility. The kits comes as a printable journal but can be used in so many other ways such as photo layouts and Christmas cards like she did.

Both cards today have elements from the same page of the Christmas Gift Printable Journal set.

I did some fancy cutting and inking to bring this card together. I just love these angels and am bummed that you can't see how I used snow glitter to accent parts of the picture with the angels.

Isn't this a fun card? Got to love that BINGO! This card has a few different layers to it. Under the BINGO is some of the holly writing journal at the bottom. Then I used my Nestabilities to cut out the oval paper and added red glitter glue to the berries again and some green square blings and finally I cut out the Santa and accented him with some glitter glue and used pop dots to make him stand out.

Christmas Card from Tsunami Rose

Welcome to Lorby's World (http://lorbysworld.blogspot.com) where today I am showing some of the Christmas cards I made using the beautiful paper from Tsunami Rose's collection Christmas Gift Printable Journal. This is a vintage Christmas paper that will take you back in time with it's beauty and grace and is versatile. The kits comes as a printable journal but can be used in so many other ways such as photo layouts and Christmas cards like I did.

The cards I made for today have words on them both and they are from the same page of the Christmas Gift Printable Journal set.

This first card I cut out the "Picture Perfect Christmas" words and inked around the outside and added a pearl and some twine and I ended up with a picture perfect Christmas card.

This one was a little more time consuming. I cut out up the journaling page and added gold ink to the outside of it and I used red glitter glue to accent the holly berries. I then cut out the "Christmas Wishes" words and cut around them also used dark blue ink around the edges with some pearl accents and red glitter glue on the tiny berries.

Thank you for stopping by today and please return tomorrow to see more cards I made using the Christmas Gift Printable Journal by Tsunami Rose.

A little holiday chalk please.

I've been busy making Christmas cards and Christmas is on Tuesday and I still have a few cards who didn't make it to the mailbox. Christmas has come to fast for me once again. I'll have to add a New Year's card and send them next week I guess.

Here is one that was made and got to it's person in time. It went to a teacher at my daughter's school with their holiday gift.

The image is one of the adorable and FREE images from Dearie Dolls Digital Stamps. I used my colored pencils and blending pencil to color the image but I used my new cream metallic chalks from Pebbles to add dimension to the snow and tree branches. I used metallic grey on the snow and metallic light green on the tree. I didn't know if I was going to like the cream chalks because they are hard to work with and so far aren't good for coloring but they work great for accenting and adding a touch of glimmer to your projects.

The green and red crystals that add that extra little touch came from  Miriam's Crafting Supplies.

I hope you enjoyed this holiday card and don't forget to head to Chalk N Stock for their December challenge - anything goes - which goes until December 31st.

Wrap It Up Christmas Blog Hop

Christmas is right around the corner! Hard to believe right?
Well let’s wrap up the holiday season. With some fabulous projects from the designers here at My Life in Arts’ n Crafts’

Who says you have to have traditional red and green for Christmas?  This is a Christmas card I made using papers from Tsunami Rose. I spritzed the blue background and the "Making Spririts Bright" sign in gold and added some bling.  I finally used the denim blue just from My Life in Arts N Crafts.

Next I created a gift tags. You can never have too many of them this time of the year.
I had the pre-cut out of the Penguin but I need a little extra so I cut out the oval using my Cuddlebug and then I added the jute from My Life In n' Crafts. The jute color is red and green I love the feeling the jute adds to this project.

Jessi is going to be giving away some fabulous goodies.

That is what this hop is about. We have gathered some of the most talented card makers around to bring holiday joy to each other while showing off their talents. Some of the carfters know each other while others have met for this first time in the Christmas Card Swap group.

Today some of the these wonderful ladies will showing the cards they made. We hope you will join us to see how talented these crafters are and to get inspiration and ideas for your own holiday cards.

This is the place to begin hopping today and I have some prizes to pass your way. Just leave comments on all the blogs and you are in the drawing for this...

There are also some other bling but the picture wouldn't come out right so I'll try to post later.

Now on with the cards and holiday cheer...

I used a stamp and then I have white glitter glue over the cranberry ink. I dry embossed using my Cuttlebug and added some bling from Miriam's Crafting Supplies. The background paper has sparkle and glitter to it also but it didn't show up in the picture.

Here is a card I received from Jennifer Restivo.

and finally...
A Lorby original digital stamp
All you have to do to win is leave a comment here and become a follower.

Please leave comments on the other participant's blogs too. They have worked so hard and for a very long time on this hop. We started organizing it a few months back.

Let's get warmed up here...

I used this picture for my Chalk N Stock Design Team post today also because this adorable little bear and his hot cocoa really warm you up just looking at him.

I used chalks to color everything. I love coloring projects in chalk. It gives a very soft appearance. I added glitter glue to the fluff on his cap and the marshmallows. I used Pebbles Inc. chalks for coloring and prefer the glitter ones because the color is brighter than the regular but I use both when blending colors.

Thank you for hopping  and if you would like to join future hops with us please join Lorby's World of Hops on Facebook. Now continue on to Miriam's blog.

My Life in Arts n Crafts DT Tuesday

Welcome this morning.  I am so in the Christmas making mood and I just love using the twines and jute from My Life in Arts n Crafts.  I find they add that extra little touch to your card or tag and they make the best tag string there is.

I used the red jute on this Christmas gift tag behind the deer, for the bow on his neck and for the sting to place it on my gift.

Here is the back side. The red goes perfectly with the papers I used which are Martha Stewart's Christmas stack from last year.

Now head on over to My Life in Arts N Crafts and see all the wonderful twine and all natural just for sale!

There are more ideas for using the twine and jute on My Life in Arts n' Crafts blog.

Until next time, hugs from Jearise in Lorby's World.

Operation Superman Blog Hop

This is a very special blog hop hosted by Sandra. It is to help a mother and her four boys who lost her husband and their father very suddenly this past summer. The holidays are a tough time for them without their dad so friends have rallied together to show their support through this blog hop. We don't all know this family but that doesn't matter because they are a family that needs support and love and even though we live all over the US and have never met them, we are still there to give them that support and love during this holiday season.

The father's nickname was Superman so you'll notice that theme running through our cards of encouragement.

Please begin at Sandra's blop today so that you can see all the cards we have made.

I found this absolutely adorable little Superboy at Dearie Dolls Digital Stamps. Her stamps are free and come colored or uncolored. I printed my Superboy out already colored. I Tried to stay to Christmas colors while putting the card together and I plan on writing a personal message of encouragement and support on the inside. I didn't add any bling to this card because I was thinking of the boys.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and now please visit Melissa's blog.

Christmas Blog Hop

Tis the season to be jolly...and what better way to pull it off than with a Christmas blog hop.

Ashely, The Blog Princess is our hostess today and the place to begin. She has a drawing on her site so make sure you start there and find out how to sign up.

If you just hopped over from Liz's Blog, then you're in the right place and I am excited to show you what I created.

I was asked to make some Texas decorations for a Christmas teacher's appreciation luncheon so I got my mind a'thinkin and these are what I came up with to celebrate Christmas Texas style.

I found this SVG on line so I cut it out with my Cricut. I hand cut the hat for the coyote and added glitter to the moon and cacti to make them look like Christmas lights. I have the words "Happy Holidays Y'All" around the outside.

The cowboy nutcrackers were the free nutcracker file last week from SVG Cuts. I drew a nutcracker mouth and found the bandana on line to print out and cut out. I created the cowboy hat in Inkscape. I used the same hat for the goodie box and just added the foam candy cane.

I was missing a few of these when I went to clean up. I was told that the teachers liked them so much that a few took some to make the pattern so their students could make them. That's a candy cane in my hat. I filled these little boxes with m & m's.

Here is a close up of my nutcracker cowboy.

Here is a side view to show his lasso. I made the lasso with jute from My Life in Arts n Crafts.

Happy Birthday Jesus Blog Hop

Welcome to the "Happy Birthday Jesus" blog hop hosted by Lynne Kirsch and Lorby's World.

The holiday season is in full swing and with it rushing to get up the decorations and buy all those presents but in our rush we sometimes forget the whole reason we have this beautiful holiday - to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

A wonderful line up of people have come together and put their rushed holiday lives on hold to show the true meaning of Christmas. Please hop through and leave them each a comment since they have worked hard to help make this hop a success.

We have five wonderful sponsors today.
To qualify for the drawings above you must leave a comment on each Happy Birthday Jesus participant's blog and visit Lorby's World, Eureka Stamps, QKR Stampede, The Stamping Chef (freebies await), and Jen's Designs (freebies await).

To be qualified for the drawing on my blog, please leave a comment below. I would love to have you as a follower but leave that part up to you.

I will be giving away some holiday goodies all tied up with string. Well at least there is string in the package.

I saw this stamp at Michael's and thought it was perfect for this hop so here it is...

A mixed bag of crystals and half pearls from Miriam's Crafting Supplies.

Over 3 yards of each holiday twine colors from Divine Twine.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS!

I took a dark blue sheet of card stock and cut it in half long way. I then scored it at 1.5 inches, 3 inches and 7 inches. I glued on my manger and then cut around the stamp and straight back. I need to show video I'm thinking but I don't have video. Might make a good video in the future. I then attached the Jesus is the Reason behind the manger scene. If you're looking down at the card like you would be on a table, you can see how it flows. I didn't realized the words look covered up until my camera battery was dead. I have it on the charger now but that's not going to help my post, is it?  I used my Winder Glitter Glue to add the designs to the sides of the cards.

This Christmas Gift journal paper is beautiful without anything added to it but just a few touches make it truly your own. I have added twine to some pages and a hand made flower to the cover.

I used colored pencils on some of the pictures just to add a touch of bright color like on the Santa's coat. I also added glitter glue to accent some of the pictures on the pages such as Santa's beard on this page tag.

A little bling goes a long way. I love added some half pearls and crystals to some of the pages and I Mod Podged Santa's outfit and the children's clothes.

There is a gold inking to the edges of the paper when you print it out. I added more gold metallic ink to give the edges a pop and shine and to cover up the white from where I cut the sheets apart.

This is beautiful grundge holiday journal to work. I added half pearls and crystals plus multi colored twine and did some Mod Podge on the Santa and children. Glitter glue also came to my rescue and I inked the edges of each page in gold. I have bound it yet because you can get better pictures with it laid open all the way. Please stop back tomorrow to see the card I make with this beautiful journal paper.
